Excursions to the Châteaux of the Loire & other cultural activities

Tourist & Leisure Activities

The Auberge des Templiers is located right next to the Châteaux of the Loire.

The route for the Châteaux of the Loire starts here, with the Château de Gien which is home to the International Hunting Museum. And you might also like to take in many other Châteaux on your way, particularly Chambord and Chenonceau.

There is also the opportunity to see the Canal de Briare Bridge, built by Gustave Eiffel at the end of the 19th century. It is just a few kilometres away from the Auberge.

At Gien, you can visit the famous earthenware factory.

The Sologne by bike

Tourist & Leisure Activities

You can cover the entire Sologne by bike on its 800 kilometres of sign-posted, protected bike tracks.

You will see, in succession, panoramic views over the Loire, typical villages and famous châteaux.

Other attractions of this region are horse riding, golf (25 km away), hunting and fishing, and being totally at one with nature.

The vineyards of Pouilly & Sancerre

Tourist & Leisure Activities

During your stay, why not get to know the vineyards of Pouilly and Sancerre?

In Sancerre, the white wines, produced from the Sauvignon grape, reflect the different terroirs that make up this appellation. The reds, produced from the Pinot Noir grape, are fruity and well-structured wines.

In Pouilly, you will be able to sample the famous Pouilly Fumé with its typical flinty aromas.

A rarer find is the appellation Pouilly-sur-Loire made from the Chasselas grape.

Our sommelier will be delighted to organise a visit to a vineyard for you.
